We live thanks to the resources we find in the environment: the water we drink and the air we breathe, the sun that warms us and the soil that gives us food. All that constitutes the material base that makes life possible, and everyone has the right to access and make use of it.  This series of resources and how we organise ourselves to guarantee their sustainability are what we call environmental commons. Taking care of these shared goods has always been, and now more than ever, of the utmost importance.

WECARE is driven by a vision of a future where we all contribute to the care of the environmental commons. We work hand in hand with local communities to identify, value and share environmental commons that enable a sustainable and healthy coexistence with their environment. Together, we can make a significant difference in preserving our shared resources for future generations.

We are a project that brings together professionals, researchers and artists from various fields of knowledge and three specific cities: Barcelona, Krakow and Bucharest. We collaborate with a wide variety of local agents to express in public space their vision of the environmental commons with which they are involved. In this way, we want to promote greater social cohesion so that communities are empowered in decision-making and management of the urban environment in which they live.
